Heavy-Duty Softshell Body and Colour-Block Construction
We built this jacket using a heavy-duty softshell fabric made from a polyester-spandex stretch blend. The fabric is specified as windproof and water-resistant, providing the material foundation for the jacket’s outdoor and sportswear construction.
For the body, we used navy blue as the primary colour and integrated crisp white and slate gray geometric panels across the shoulders, sides and sleeves. The contrasting sections are incorporated into the overall panel construction rather than being treated as simple surface decoration.
This approach gives the jacket a structured technical appearance while allowing the colour arrangement to become part of the product identity. For brands developing their own version, the panel layout and colour combination can be reviewed around the requirements of the collection.
For buyers developing multiple outerwear styles, our manufacturing service provides a starting point for discussing product construction, materials and OEM requirements.
Stand-Up Collar and Full-Length Front Closure
At the neckline, we constructed a high mandarin-style stand-up collar. The collar extends around the neck and meets the full-length centre-front closure.
We used a matching navy zipper through the front, running from the bottom of the jacket up to the top of the collar. This allows the front to close completely to the neck while keeping the main closure visually integrated with the navy body.
For an OEM development, the collar and front closure can be specified according to your own design, measurements and construction requirements.
Welded Chest Pocket and Lower Handwarmer Pockets
We constructed the left chest pocket as a vertical welded or bonded zip pocket. A gray seam-tape border surrounds the pocket area, adding a defined technical detail to the chest panel.
Two additional pockets are positioned on the lower front of the jacket. These are angled handwarmer pockets fitted with dark zippers. We used extended zipper pull tabs to make the pocket openings easier to grip and operate.
The pocket arrangement can be used as the construction reference for a private-label version, while your own pocket positioning, configuration and design requirements can be reviewed during product development.
If you are planning your own jacket range, our guide on how to calculate jacket manufacturing costs can also help when evaluating how construction details affect the overall product specification.
Multi-Panel Sleeves and Adjustable Wrist Construction
The sleeves continue the colour-block construction used across the body. We constructed the shoulder section in gray, followed by a navy upper sleeve, a thick white chevron band through the middle and a dark blue forearm section.
The different panels create a continuous geometric design from the shoulder down towards the wrist while keeping the sleeve visually structured.
At the wrist, we fitted adjustable Velcro tabs. These allow the cuff opening to be adjusted around the wrist and help with wind blocking at the sleeve opening.
For an OEM project, the sleeve panel arrangement, colour placement and cuff construction can be developed around your own product specifications.
Clean Hem and Internal Drawstring Option
We finished the bottom of the jacket with a clean horizontal hemline. The construction also allows internal elastic drawstrings to be incorporated into the hem when an adjustable lower fit is required.
This gives brands an additional option when finalising the fit and construction of their own version. The required hem configuration can be established during sampling rather than assuming that every brand requires the same finish.
For buyers moving towards product development, the SJS sampling service can be used to discuss sample development around your specifications before bulk production.
